Scheduled Scans
Scheduled scans run automatically at regular intervals, keeping your site health data current without manual intervention.
Setting Up Scheduled Scans
- Go to your Site Dashboard
- Click Settings
- Find the Scheduled Scans section
- Choose your frequency
- Click Save
Frequency Options
Weekly
Available on Growth and Scale plans.
Best for:
- Sites with frequent content updates
- E-commerce sites with changing inventory
- Blogs with regular posts
- Business sites with occasional updates
Monthly
Available on all plans.
Best for:
- Static sites rarely updated
- Brochure-style websites
- Sites that don't need frequent monitoring
Scan Timing
Default Timing
Scheduled scans run during off-peak hours (typically early morning in your timezone) to minimize impact on your site and catch overnight changes.
Custom Timing
Growth and Scale plans can configure preferred scan times:
- Go to Site Settings
- Under Scheduled Scans, click Advanced
- Set your preferred time
- Click Save
Useful if you:
- Want scans after nightly deployments
- Need results available for morning standups
- Have specific timezone requirements
Scan Budget Management
Monitoring Usage
Check your scan usage:
- Go to Settings → Billing
- View Scans Used vs Scan Limit
Budget Math
Calculate monthly usage:
| Sites | Frequency | Scans/Month |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Weekly | 4 |
| 1 | Monthly | 1 |
| 5 | Weekly | 20 |
| 10 | Weekly | 40 |
Starter plan (30 full scans):
- 7 sites weekly, or
- 30 sites monthly
Growth plan (100 full scans):
- 25 sites weekly, or
- 100 sites monthly
Scale plan (500 full scans):
- 125 sites weekly, or
- 500 sites monthly
Prioritizing Sites
If budget is tight:
- Weekly: Your most important or frequently updated sites
- Monthly: Stable, low-priority sites
Notifications
Scheduled scans can trigger notifications:
- Scan complete - Summary when each scan finishes
- New critical issues - Immediate alert for serious problems
- Score drops - Alert when health score decreases
Configure in Settings → Notifications.
See Email Notifications for details.
Pausing Scheduled Scans
To temporarily stop scheduled scans:
- Go to Site Settings
- Under Scheduled Scans, select Paused
- Click Save
Paused scans don't count toward your monthly limit. Re-enable anytime.
Use cases for pausing:
- Site under maintenance
- Major redesign in progress
- Temporarily conserving scan budget
- Site taken offline
Best Practices
Match Frequency to Update Cadence
- Frequent updates → More frequent scans
- Rare updates → Less frequent scans
Use Alongside On-Demand Scans
Scheduled scans provide baseline monitoring. Also run on-demand scans:
- After deployments
- After major content changes
- When investigating problems
Review Results Regularly
Scheduled scans are only valuable if you act on results. Set a routine:
- Weekly: Review scan results
- Monthly: Analyze trends
- Quarterly: Set improvement goals
Configure Notifications
Don't let issues sit unnoticed. Set up alerts for:
- New critical issues (immediate action)
- Score drops (investigate regression)
Troubleshooting
Scans Not Running
If scheduled scans aren't executing:
- Check the schedule is enabled (not paused)
- Verify you have remaining scan budget
- Confirm the site is verified
- Check site accessibility
Inconsistent Results
If results vary unexpectedly:
- Dynamic content may cause differences
- A/B tests can affect results
- Check for intermittent server issues
- Review any recent site changes
Missing Notifications
If you're not receiving notifications:
- Check notification settings are enabled
- Verify your email address
- Check spam/junk folders
- Add hello@auditoro.io to contacts
